Take Back The Republican Party, per the intent of the Founders, is opposed to the size of our government. While we are in favor of a 35 - 40% reduction in the size of the federal government, we also believe that state and local governments have grown too large as well.

If the US Government, aside from the Department of Defense, the Justice Department and the Postal Service, were to shut down tomorrow, do you think anyone other than those on the government payroll or welfare would even notice?

Thinking further, what does the US Government do that could not be done more effectively and efficiently by private enterprise? The answer is nothing, except waste taxpayer money.

Take Back The Republican Party does believe that there is a need for a federal government. Per the US Constitution, the role of the federal government is to 1) provide for the national defense and 2) settle disputes between the states. TBTRP agrees, and believes that the postal service should be privatized and operated as a for profit business and that only the Military (Dept of Defense) and the Justice Department should exist at the federal level. ALL other governmental functions should be decided on and handled at the most local level possible. Some of these governing functions would be handled most effectively at the state level, while others are areas of local concern. This is how the United States was founded, and this how the United States should be constructed today.

These changes WILL result in dramatically lower federal income tax rates for ALL Americans. Additionally, by moving the overwhelming majority of governing decisions to the state and local levels, taxpayers will have far greater control and oversight on their elected officials. One of the major problems with the federal government today is that there is no accountability and no oversight over the federal government at a level local enough to make a difference. As a result, the federal government continues to act and govern against the will of the people. This must be stopped and our course of governing altered immediately.

These changes will also result in the end of the unprecedented redistribution of wealth currently being forced upon the American people by the Obama Administration and the Liberals in Congress.
